25 Years of Elmore PR: 2014

2017 is a big year for Elmore Public Relations—we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary! For the past 25 years, our agency has been working with numerous clients to help them achieve their goals, or as we say – connecting strategy, expertise and results. Each week we’re highlighting a year of Elmore PR. 

Last week, we looked back at our work with longtime client, the Harris County Flood Control District. In light of recent events, this week’s blog post is particularly meaningful to us as we reflect on our long history working with our city’s incredible performing arts organizations. Our very first client in 1992 was the Theater District and we have been fortunate to work alongside many of Houston’s premier performing arts groups and witness the magic they bring to the stage.

Houston has a thriving arts community, and over the years we have teamed with the talented leadership at the Houston Grand Opera, Society for the Performing Arts, Houston Symphony and the Houston Ballet, who inspire us.

2014

We joined forces with the Nutcracker Market team in 2014, and since then, have provided social media and media relations support in an effort to raise awareness for the Market. The Nutcracker Market is an annual four-day holiday shopping extravaganza held at NRG Center around the second week of November. What started out as a local church bazaar, now sees dedicated crowds of over 100,000 annually – some who take time off work for the four-day occasion.

This year, more than 280 merchants from all across the U.S. are coming together to sell their highly sought after products, with items ranging from sweet delicacies, handcrafted jewelry, men’s, women’s and children’s fashions and so much more. We are a little more than one month away from the 37th annual shop ‘til you drop event. Get your holiday shopping done early, all while supporting a great organization.

One of the biggest ways to support the Houston Ballet is actually through their annual Nutcracker Market. Proceeds from ticket sales and 10 percent of merchandise sales directly support the Ballet, its Academy and scholarship programs. In its 37th year, the Nutcracker Market serves as the Houston Ballet’s largest fundraiser, with more than $57 million raised over the course of its history.

Supporting the city’s arts community has never been more important. Cross off items from your holiday shopping list all while supporting the Houston Ballet by attending this year’s Nutcracker Market, which will be from November 9 – 12.
