Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market – Nov. 10-13
Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market! The biggest shopping extravaganza in Texas will be at NRG Center from November 10 to 13. A portion of the proceeds from the Nutcracker Market will benefit the Houston Ballet Foundation, its Academy and scholarship programs. Hundreds of vendors from the United States gather at NRG to sell their one-of-a-kind goods, ranging from food to clothing to games. Purchase your tickets today!


Winter Art Installations at Discovery Green – Starting Nov. 22
Every winter season brings a new art installation to the park. Beginning November 22, Discovery Green welcomes Firmament and Enchanted Promenade, both stunning, interactive pieces to the green. Firmament, designed by Burning Man artist Christopher Shardt, is a captivating 52-foot wide canopy of 21,600 LED lights. Enchanted Promenade was designed by TILT, a French light art and design studio. Enchanted Promenade is composed of 10 giant, colorful peony bouquets lined along the Brown Promenade. Firmament will be on display until January 8, 2017 and Enchanted Promenade will be available until February 19, 2017. The ICE at Discovery Green – Nov. 22 – Feb. 5
Starting November 22, Discovery Green’s Kinder Lake will transform into an ice skating rink! Put on your ice skates and show off your best moves through February 5. It’s a Wonderful Life at the Houston Grand Opera – Dec. 2 – 17
From December 2 to 17, the Houston Grand Opera will perform “It’s a Wonderful Life” as a part of their holiday opera series. Based on the classic holiday film, “It’s a Wonderful Life” tells the story of banker George Bailey whose guardian angel helps him realize the impact that we can have on the lives of others.
