Happy 10th Iron Sommelier!

By: Leticia Luna

The wine flowed freely at The Periwinkle Foundation’s annual wine competition and fundraiser at the Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Iron Sommelier presented by AUTOSOL has been dubbed by many attendees, including prominent food and wine reporters, as “Houston’s best wine event of the year.” Each year, Elmore PR helps Periwinkle raise some buzz before the event, coordinate media attendance and secure coverage. With the evolution of the event, our team has made a strong push to bring more media covering the food and wine industry and doubled the number of media attendees this year alone representing Edible Houston, Houston Chronicle, Texas Wine Lover and more.

25 Years of Elmore PR: 2012

2017 is a big year for Elmore Public Relations—we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary! For the past 25 years, our agency has been working with numerous clients to help them achieve their goals, or as we say – connecting strategy, expertise and results. Each week we’re highlighting a year of Elmore PR.

Thanks again for joining us! Last week, we took a sweet trip down memory lane with some of our former Elmore PR teammates and asked them to share some of their favorite lessons and memories from their time at the agency. This week, we’re excited to welcome The Periwinkle Foundation’s Executive Director, Doug Suggitt, for a special Q+A session.

For the past 25 years, our agency has been working with numerous clients to help them achieve their goals, or as we say – connecting strategy, expertise and results. Each week we’re highlighting a year of Elmore PR.

One of the most rewarding opportunities Elmore PR has had in its 25-year history is to team with visionaries to bring an idea from concept to fruition. Our role has often been to introduce a concept, build excitement, and foster partnerships.

2008 marked milestones for two landmark projects in Houston: the opening of Discovery Green and the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark. It was a strong signal for the desire for world-class public gathering places in our city.

Making a Mark with Art

By: Kim Tarleton

September marks Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and that also means the 25th Annual Making A Mark ® Opening Exhibit Celebration. Each year children with cancer and blood disorders and their siblings share their experience through art which is displayed in The Periwinkle Foundation’s Marking A Mark art exhibit.  I had the chance to attend the opening of the exhibit on Saturday, Sept. 12 and to see more than 350 pieces of colorful art completely covering the Auxiliary Bridge at Texas Children’s Hospital was breathtaking. Visiting with the artists was super fun and I loved seeing how proud they were of their masterpieces.

Tingly Happiness at Periwinkle Camp

By: Kim Tarleton
