For the past 25 years, our agency has been working with numerous clients to help them achieve their goals, or as we say – connecting strategy, expertise and results. Each week we’re highlighting a year of Elmore PR.

In our last installment, we took a look back on our relationship with the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market and Houston’s other incredible performing arts organizations. This week, we’re joined by Anne Olson, President of Buffalo Bayou Partnership, for a special Q+A session discussing the iconic Houston park and what the future holds.

25 Years of Elmore PR: 2008

2017 is a big year for Elmore Public Relations—we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary! For the past 25 years, our agency has been working with numerous clients to help them achieve their goals, or as we say – connecting strategy, expertise and results. Each week we’re highlighting a year of Elmore PR.

One of the most rewarding opportunities Elmore PR has had in its 25-year history is to team with visionaries to bring an idea from concept to fruition. Our role has often been to introduce a concept, build excitement, and foster partnerships.

2008 marked milestones for two landmark projects in Houston: the opening of Discovery Green and the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark. It was a strong signal for the desire for world-class public gathering places in our city.

Birthing a Book

By: Claudia Morlan

Buffalo Bayou Park has an incredible history. By being a part of the editorial team of Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s book From Rendering to Reality: The Story of Buffalo Bayou Park, I learned some little known history of this park and area. Did you know that Buffalo Bayou’s name may have originated from the bison or maybe from the “buffalo fish” which once swam the waters?

Through the editorial process, I was inspired by how passionately its proponents preserved, improved and advocated for this park. Over a period of nearly two years, I saw the inner workings of how a book comes together from cover to cover!

Buffalo Bayou Revealed

By: Claudia Morlan

A secret underground reservoir, inspiring public art in unexpected places, and a one-of-a-kind nature play area right in the middle of the city. This is Buffalo Bayou Park. If you haven’t been there, plan your visit! Here’s a nifty tool: the Buffalo Bayou Revealed audio tours, presented by Houston Public Media (HPM). HPM, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, and Elmore PR collaborated last summer and fall when the two groups wanted to work together to commemorate the opening of the park. The familiar voices of Ernie Manouse, Catherine Lu, and Tom Carter reveal the must-see features of one of Houston’s treasured green spaces.

Happy birthday, Market Square Park!

By: Kate Withall

Loved seeing Downtown Houston, and its Historic District, featured in wheretraveler.com. Downtown truly has a lot of hidden gems and we have been proud to work on many downtown projects. In fact, Market Square Park, a neighborhood park in the heart of Houston’s Historic District, turns 5 today. Elmore PR helped open the park in a way that was meaningful to the area and celebrated the feeling of a neighborhood gathering. We are thrilled to see Market Square Park held up as an example of what can be achieved in the heart of a city. Happy birthday, Market Square Park! Check out the article here.
