At the June 29 PRSA Houston Excalibur Awards, Elmore PR was honored with three awards, including the Grand Excalibur Award, the top award of the evening recognizing the best public relations program of the year.
Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Account Manager Claudia Morlan, myself, and former Elmore PR team members Jennie Bui-McCoy and Megan Flinn were part of the team recognized. The team was presented with the Gold Excalibur Award in the Events and Observances category and the main award of the night, the Grand Excalibur sword, for strategic work on the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern Grand Opening.
With an announcement strategy crafted by Elmore PR together with the client, the Cistern opening gained local, regional and national news coverage from outlets, including the Associated Press and Smithsonian. Further, social media and media partnership tactics were integrated into the planning.
Scenic Houston and Account Manager Rachel Compton were awarded a Silver Excalibur Award in the Community Relations category for stellar work on the Broadway/Hobby Corridor Redevelopment project that garnered attention from national outlets including the Wall Street Journal. Elmore PR’s Carol Brejot, Christine Cantrell and Kate Withall also assisted with the project.
Elmore PR created and implemented a strategic PR plan, securing media coverage for Scenic Houston’s role in the improvements along Broadway Street in anticipation of Super Bowl LI.
It is exciting to work among intelligent and fearless PR professionals; I am honored to have worked with the Buffalo Bayou team in the Cistern opening project. The Elmore PR team is already brainstorming photo opps for the Excalibur sword and can’t wait to share them soon!
