How many total years in the industry? 15 years in PR, marketing and communications with agency and corporate experience.
When did you start at Elmore PR? I started the first time in January 2003, left in October 2008 and returned in January 2017. So happy to be back!
What’s your weapon in the business environment? Being authentic—it’s a great way to build trust! By being genuine in the way I connect with my work, fellow employees and clients, I’ve found it allows people to feel confident in sharing information openly and helps build great relationships.
What item(s) do you collect? Lapel pins. I try to pick one up when I visit a new place. I have a large corkboard to display them and each reminds me of a happy or funny memory from my travels.
Most amazing place you’ve been or person you’ve met? A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Theodore Bikel. He was the original Captain Von Trapp in the Sound of Music on Broadway and is most famous for playing Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof in more than 1,000 performances.
It was my job to be his handler for a couple days in Las Vegas. He was a wonderful storyteller. My favorite story he shared was about how Edelweiss was added to the musical at the last minute and was written especially for his vocal style and range because Rodgers and Hammerstein felt the leading man needed his own song. His sweet demeanor, yet commanding stage presence left a lasting impression on me.
What’s your “go to” website, news feed, etc.? The Skimm. I love how they summarize the biggest news of the day in a smart, witty way.
