Cynthia Hurrington

Cynthia Hurrington joined Elmore in January 2024 as a Senior Communications Strategist. She brings her experience as a senior-level leader in corporate communications to serving clients, including Houston Habitat for Humanity, Perkins&Will, Harris County Flood Control District and others.

Cynthia is known for being a great listener. She asks the right questions to understand the bigger picture and shape communications strategies that drive organizational objectives. She has a keen eye for spotting opportunities for organizations to share their stories and connect with their stakeholders.

Her outcomes-focused approach is informed by more than 15 years of broad-based experience leading corporate and marketing communications across diverse industries, including oil and gas, non-profit, food manufacturing, and professional services. Most recently, Cynthia led communications for Maverick Natural Resources and Houston Endowment. Her leadership includes major rebranding and repositioning campaigns, such as the grand opening of Houston Endowment’s headquarters building alongside a new website that introduced fresh brand standards. Her work to improve social responsibility communications at Service Corporation International moved the company from a rank as one of “America’s worst corporate citizens” to a top ten corporate citizen in the retail sector, as published by JUST Capital in Forbes.

Cynthia holds a Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston. A proud native Houstonian, she enjoys exploring the restaurants that reflect the city’s diversity. She is also a board game geek and loves a good game night with family and friends.
