COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST

Kristy Callaway

Kristy Gillentine Callaway joined Elmore in January 2025 as a communications strategist supporting the Harris County Flood Control District. With more than 20 years of experience in media and public relations, she specializes in writing, editing, media relations, public affairs, crisis communications and social media strategy. She develops and implements communications strategies that enhance organizations’ missions and bolster support for their bold goals.

Before joining Elmore, Kristy worked extensively with clients in highly regulated industries, including education, finance and healthcare. She has supported some of the nation’s largest public school districts, county health departments, and organizations in the oil and gas, medical technology and fintech sectors — from startups to publicly traded companies. Her experience also includes working with Inc. 5000 and Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits and other prominent organizations nationwide.

The proud granddaughter of a lifelong newspaperwoman, Kristy has deep roots in local media. She spent 12 years as a reporter, editor and manager in television, radio and print journalism and has worked for ABC 13, CW 39, News 92 FM, The Texas City Sun and The Bryan-College Station Eagle. Her enterprise reporting earned recognition from the Texas Press Association, Houston Press Club, Dallas Press Club and National Newspaper Association.

Kristy is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and holds degrees in political science and mathematics. She lives in her hometown of Santa Fe in Galveston County with her husband, Brandon, their two young children, Emmett and Allie.
