Senior Digital Content and Social Media Strategist


The Senior Digital Content and Social Media Strategist consistently exhibits strategic thinking with ease and proficiency; navigates gray areas well; adapts to client personalities; delegates well to team members; and possesses a breadth and depth of experience that translate into strong strategy guidance for the client. The Senior Digital Content and Social Media Strategist demonstrates the ability to see various aspects and needs of a client’s account, and the interdependencies among them; exhibits strategic thinking; drives work forward; leads effective meetings; and serves as a trusted advisor to the client.

The Senior Digital Content and Social Media Strategist role requires proficiency and expertise in digital content, social media and influencer strategy and execution, and analytics including performance metrics and evaluation.

Responsibilities and Requirements Include:

  • Demonstrates consistent proficiency in digital content, specifically web, social media, and influencer strategy and execution 
  • Implements all assigned client work with initiative and little supervision, ensuring quality, timeliness and client satisfaction
  • Participates in and contributes meaningfully to the creation of strategic plans with particular input into areas of digital and social media
  • Earns the trust and respect of the client through consistent, quality work which demonstrates expertise and excellence in areas of digital and social media
  • Serves as a resource to other team members on areas of digital and social media as needed and in team planning sessions
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of and proficiency in the areas of digital and social media, which translates across client accounts
    • Possesses a thorough understanding of both paid and organic social media marketing strategy and implementation in support of a client’s brand, or in a specific campaign or promotion
    • Maintains an understanding of social media trends, metrics, and relevant benchmarks, and knows how to analyze social media data to tell a story
    • Develops insights and designs a social media content strategy based on social data performance to make improvements
    • Plans and drafts social media content in the cross-platform editorial calendar or delegates implementation to team members as appropriate
    • Researches and manages project-specific or long-term relationships with influencers on behalf of clients
    • Creates the agreements between the client and influencers based on campaign objectives and desired outcomes
    • Manages the execution of deliverables between both parties in the influencer/client partnership
    • Designs event concepts to draw influencer interest in a client brand, exhibit, program and/or initiative
    • Conducts website audits and develops comprehensive interpretation and recommendations
    • Provides analysis and interpretation of website, digital and social media metrics and manages reporting standards
  • Ability to interact and gain the trust of clients
  • Ability to think creatively and share creative ideas with clients
  • Keep projects on schedule and on budget; update delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines
  • Participates on client teams as required to provide digital and social media expertise, recommendations, or execution
  • Effectively coaches team members and delegates tasks as appropriate
  • Support the president and management team in the marketing and online presence of the company
  • Provides regular reports to CEO, Senior Communications Strategist or Communications Strategist as requested.
  • Delivers work on time; ensures quality, accuracy and consistency of work
  • Provides client account administrative support internally and at client meetings as assigned
  • Possesses more than 12 years of relevant experience
  • Prior agency experience preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
